Terms of Service

Welcome to Qurra. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Qurra website, web application, and mobile applications (collectively, the "Service") operated by Qurra ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Qurra. By using the Service you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement, that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and that you are using the Service with the sincere intention of seeking marriage in accordance with Islamic principles.

Qurra is a matrimonial platform intended for Muslims. Use of the Service for casual dating, entertainment, or any purpose inconsistent with the sincere pursuit of lawful marriage is prohibited.

2. Account Registration

You may register using an email address and password or via a supported third-party provider (currently Google). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your profile up to date.

You may hold only one active individual account. Creating duplicate accounts to circumvent restrictions or suspensions is prohibited and may result in permanent removal from the Service.

3. Profile Information & the Wali System

Your profile is your representation on Qurra. All information you submit — including your name, biography, and personal attributes — must be truthful and accurately represent you. Submitting false, misleading, or impersonated information is grounds for immediate account termination.

For female users, Qurra incorporates a wali (guardian) system. You may be asked to provide your wali's name and contact details. By providing this information you confirm you have the wali's consent to share their contact information with Qurra and, where relevant, with prospective matches. You are solely responsible for ensuring this consent exists.

Community images. Community organisations may upload a profile image and cover image (e.g. a logo or thumbnail) when registering on Qurra. You grant Qurra a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and serve these images solely for the purpose of operating the Service. Images must be appropriate, must not contain offensive content, and must not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party. We reserve the right to remove any image at our discretion.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any purpose other than the sincere pursuit of marriage.
• Harass, threaten, or otherwise harm other users.
• Send unsolicited commercial messages or spam.
• Collect or harvest other users' personal information without consent.
• Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data you are not authorised to access.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or create derivative works from the Service.
• Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Upload content that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice for any violation of these rules.

5. Match Credits & Payments

Certain features of Qurra Direct — specifically the ability for male users to send match requests — require Match Credits. Credits are purchased through our payment processor, Stripe, and are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer law.

Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and expire upon account closure. Credits granted via promotional codes are subject to the specific terms communicated at the time of the promotion.

All payments are processed by Stripe. Your payment information is transmitted directly to Stripe and is never stored on Qurra's systems. By making a purchase you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.

6. Subscriptions

Qurra may offer subscription plans that unlock additional features or Credit allocations. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annual) at the price displayed at checkout. You authorise us to charge your payment method on each renewal date unless you cancel before the next billing cycle.

You may cancel your subscription at any time via the Settings page in the app or through the Stripe Billing Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; we do not offer pro-rata refunds for unused periods except where required by law.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new price.

7. Community Features (Qurra Community)

Masajids and community organisations may register a community on Qurra to manage their own matrimonial programme. Community administrators are responsible for the conduct of their members and for ensuring their community's use of the Service complies with these Terms.

Community administrators must not use the Service to collect funds, solicit donations, or operate any commercial activity beyond what is expressly permitted by Qurra. Community invite tokens must not be distributed in a manner that circumvents any access controls.

Qurra may verify, suspend, or remove community listings at any time if they are found to violate these Terms or community standards.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, trademarks, and software comprising the Service (excluding user-submitted content) are the property of Qurra or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our name, logo, or marks without our prior written consent.

You retain ownership of the content you submit. By submitting content you grant Qurra a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to use, reproduce, adapt, and display that content solely to provide and improve the Service.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please read it carefully.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Qurra does not conduct background checks on users. We strongly encourage you to exercise caution and good judgement when interacting with others and to involve your wali or trusted family members in the process. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user on or off the platform.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Qurra and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) £100 (or local currency equivalent).

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via the Settings page. Upon deletion, your profile and personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, particularly if we determine that you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any unused Match Credits are forfeited upon termination for cause and are non-refundable.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and delete your account before the effective date.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
